Terms of Service

You must be at least 18 years old to use BudgetLens. By using the Service, you represent that you are 18 or older and have the legal authority to enter into this agreement.

• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.
• You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
• Notify us immediately at support@budgetlens.app if you suspect unauthorized access.
• You may not share your account or use the Service on behalf of others without authorization.

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any regulations
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any portion of the Service
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Service
• Use automated scripts or bots to interact with the Service
• Transmit malware, spam, or any harmful content
• Impersonate any person or entity

BudgetLens is a personal finance tracking tool, not a financial advisor. The AI-generated insights, budget suggestions, and financial recommendations provided by the Service are for informational purposes only and do not constitute professional financial, investment, legal, or tax advice.

Always consult a qualified financial professional before making significant financial decisions. We are not responsible for any financial decisions you make based on information from the Service.

When you connect a bank account, you authorize BudgetLens to access your account data through Plaid Technologies, Inc. This access is read-only — we cannot initiate transactions or move money. You may revoke this access at any time from the Accounts page.

Your use of Plaid is also subject to Plaid's End User Privacy Policy.

• Paid subscriptions are billed monthly or annually through Stripe.
• Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled before the renewal date.
• You can cancel your subscription at any time from the Billing page. You will retain access until the end of the current billing period.
• We do not offer refunds for partial subscription periods.
• We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice to existing subscribers.

The BudgetLens name, logo, software, and all content are owned by BudgetLens and protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works without our written permission.

You retain ownership of all data you input into the Service. By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to store, process, and display your data solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you.

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these Terms or for any other reason at our discretion, with or without notice. You may delete your account at any time from Settings.

Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination will survive, including disclaimers, limitation of liability, and dispute resolution.

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR COMPLETELY SECURE.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, BUDGETLENS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIMS ARISING FROM THESE TERMS OR YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of competent jurisdiction in the United States.

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes via email or in-app notification at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
